TERMS OF SERVICE

1. THE SERVICE

Rate A Barber ("Rate A Barber", "we", "us") is a directory, review, and community platform connecting barbershop clients with barbers across the United States. We let clients search for barbers, leave reviews, and follow their work; we let barbers create profiles, accept reviews, and run paid listings.

2. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Service. By signing up you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.

3. ACCOUNTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at rateabarber@gmail.com if you believe your account has been used without permission.

4. BARBER SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

Barbers may subscribe to a paid plan (Pro or Elite) to unlock additional features. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation prevents future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.

5. NO REFUNDS ONCE PROFILE IS LIVE

All subscription payments are non-refundable once your profile has gone live and become visible to clients. Promotional periods and free trials (where offered) end automatically and convert to paid at the published rate unless cancelled before the period ends.

6. REVIEWS MUST BE HONEST AND REAL

All reviews must be honest, accurate, and reflect the reviewer's genuine personal experience with the barber being reviewed. By posting a review you warrant that you actually received service from that barber and that your review is your own opinion.

7. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You may not post fake reviews, manipulate ratings, impersonate another person, offer or accept compensation in exchange for reviews, post illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content, scrape the Service, abuse our APIs, or otherwise interfere with the integrity of the platform. Violations may result in immediate content removal and account termination.

8. CONTENT REMOVAL AND ACCOUNT TERMINATION

We may remove any content, suspend, or terminate any account at our sole discretion, at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. We may also refuse to provide the Service to anyone.

9. NO WARRANTY ON BARBER SERVICES

Rate A Barber is a directory and review platform. We do not perform, endorse, employ, or guarantee any barber services. We make no representations about the qualifications, licensing, conduct, or quality of any barber listed on the platform. Any service you receive from a barber is between you and the barber. Use the Service at your own risk.

10. USER-GENERATED CONTENT AND SECTION 230

Reviews, photos, comments, posts, and other content on the Service are user-generated. Pursuant to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230), Rate A Barber is not the publisher or speaker of user-generated content and is not liable for it. We may, but are not obligated to, moderate or remove user content.

11. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the Service shall first be addressed by good-faith written notice to rateabarber@gmail.com, allowing 30 days for informal resolution. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in Providence, Rhode Island, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court. You waive any right to participate in a class action.

12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

13. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for any in-court proceedings (where permitted) lies exclusively in Providence County, Rhode Island.

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rate A Barber and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
